About B10

About B10

B10 is an initiative by Alexander, physiotherapist and clinical epidemiologist. There is a huge amount of health information out there, little of it reliable and even less usable.

B10 separates the wheat from the chaff and translates trustworthy research into concrete choices you can make today.

No dogma, no supplements we happen to be selling. Just research, nuance and common sense.

Sleep: the underrated cornerstone of your health

We spend a third of our lives asleep, and yet most people barely know what happens during those hours — or why it so strongly shapes how you feel, think, move and recover during the day.

What to expect from a B10 lecture

No slide deck full of jargon, and no wagging finger. A B10 lecture is built around real questions: why does my body work the way it does, and what does that mean for me? Alexander explains complex things in plain language, shows where the evidence is strong and where it’s shaky, and leaves plenty of space to think along. You go home with insight that sticks — and a short handout to read it back.

Sleep

Why sleep matters: what happens in your body overnight

Sleep feels like doing nothing. In reality it’s one of the most active and best-organised processes in your entire body. While you sleep, your brain clears out waste, locks.

Sleep

The sleep cycle explained: light, deep and dream

Sleep isn’t one state but a journey through different stages, repeating four to six times a night in cycles of about ninety minutes. Broadly, there are two kinds of sleep.

Sleep hygiene that actually works (and the myths you can let go)

Sleep hygiene” sounds dull, but it simply means the habits and conditions that make good sleep possible. Not everything you read online is true. Here’s what the evidence shows.
